Physical Therapist
Cari graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy. She practiced first in 16 rural counties in north central Florida as a home therapist, school therapist, and clinic consultant in pediatric orthopedic, cerebral palsy, and cystic fibrosis clinics. She has also worked in a preschool setting for children with special needs and currently provides home visits in Wake and Johnston counties. She has over twenty years of experience in pediatric therapy and has treated children with challenges including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and atrophy, spinal cord injuries, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disorder, agenesis of the corpus callosum, and developmental delays related to a variety of causes including prematurity. Cari is aware of the challenges to family caregivers, as she is involved in the care of an elderly parent with a degenerative brain disorder. She is the mother of two grown sons and says she has been married to their father a surprisingly long time.
